Newsroom U is a media education initiative that facilitates immersive, real-world experiences for emerging journalists. Its inaugural program—the White House Student Press Briefing and Multimedia Weekend—brought 25 standout student journalists from top college and high school media programs to Washington, D.C. for hands-on training and access to national press briefings.

The weekend offered participants the opportunity to report from the nation’s capital, sharpen their multimedia skills, and engage with leading professionals in politics, media, and technology.

Newsroom U is supported by a dynamic group of partners, including Adobe, Canon, USA Today, Huffington Post, the Journalism Education Association, the Ford Foundation, and the Student Press Law Center.
